PD Blues

PD Blues Bob Mullany 2/1/2012

They say I’m not dying and I guess you can say that’s good news
They say don’t stop trying or start crying when you get the blues
I stand with my walker I shut my eyes tight
I pray when they open I’m walking upright
I hope I stop twitching like a bug on a light...

Got the PD Blues but I keep refusing to give in
Got the PD Blues and I guess I’ll just try to keep living
Don’t cry for me, baby, in the end we know everyone’s dying
But until we stop walking and talking and breathing we’ll never stop trying

When I’m feeling addled and rattled and completely befuddled
I shake like a mutt who got thrown on his back in a puddle
As folks who don’t know you just want to get through it
They invariably say its alright, we can do it
So you feel like a fool ‘cause there ain’t that much to it ...

Got the PD Blues but I keep refusing to give in
Got the PD Blues and I guess I’ll just try to keep living
Don’t cry for me, baby, in the end we know everyone’s dying
But until we stop walking and talking and breathing we’ll never stop trying

For 30 odd years my bosses said I’m quite well -respected
Now it pains me to say that today my old brain is defective
I guess I’m disabled, My star has been snuffed
I have trouble writing and eating and stuff
Perhaps its bad karma and my last life was tough...

Got the PD Blues but I keep refusing to give in
Got the PD Blues and I guess I’ll just try to keep living
Don’t cry for me, baby, in the end we know everyone’s dying
But until we stop walking and talking and breathing we’ll never stop trying
