South of the Border

South of the Border © 1985 Bob Mullany

Breathing is painful, there's snow to my knees
The weatherman's talks of our next deep freeze
We've got icicles hanging from all of the trees
I'd sell my soul for a tropical breeze

Take me south of the border
I think a vacation's in order
Let's go south of the border
'Cause freezing's not really my thing
I'm going south of the border
We'll live on tequila- we won't drink the water
I'll see you all in the spring

I could be crazy but I get no thrill
Turning art into life with my own Big Chill
With the money I'd spend on my heating bill
I'll eat beans and burritos 'til I've had my fill

Take me south of the border
I think a vacation's in order
Let's go south of the border
'Cause freezing's not really my thing
I'm going south of the border
We'll live on tequila- we won't drink the water
I'll see you all in the spring

The air is so brittle I swear it'll break
It's so darned cold it makes my teeth ache
I think that the biggest mistake I could make
Is staying here freezing - I've had all I can take

Take me south of the border
I think a vacation's in order
Let's go south of the border
'Cause freezing's not really my thing
I'm going south of the border
We'll live on tequila- we won't drink the water
I'll see you all in the spring
