Every Good Dog Has His Day

Every Good Dog Has His Day © 2012 Bob Mullany

You've found you've got to slow things down
Just to make another round
And still you're always losin' ground
The longer that you stay
Every good dog has his day
 But yours have slipped away...

Some women pass you on the street
You're searching for some eyes to meet
A simple smile can be so sweet
That it can make your day

It's simple pleasures just like this
It's sad to see how much you miss
They walk by like you don't exist
 And go their merry way
Every good dog has his day
 But yours have slipped away...

It's time for you to face the truth
 Fortunes of a misspent youth
 Chickens coming home to roost
And now they're here to stay
Ev'ry good dog has his day
 But yours have slipped away...
