The River Beneath the River

The River Beneath the River

The river beneath the river is older than old
It hides in it a treasure that's much richer than gold
The river beneath the river takes courage to find
You must look past this world, you must open your mind

Find yourself a sacred space as silent as the stone
Leave your life behind you, and then travel there alone
Leave behind your family, and leave behind your friends
The river beneath the river has no end, has no end

The river beneath the river is older than old
It hides in it a treasure that's much richer than gold
The river beneath the river takes courage to find
You must see past this world, you must see you've been blind

Set your wild spirit free, sing what must be sung
Sing the song that's yours alone with the true gift of tongues
The river beneath the river, it will help make you whole
Sing your song out freely, let it rise up from your soul

The river beneath the river is older than old
It hides in it a treasure that's much richer than gold
The river beneath the river takes courage to find
You must move past this world, and let go of your mind

  1. "We are all los inmigrantes, and the soul is The First Immigrant: The Soul cannot be held back by any imaginary boundary drawn against it; not by mountain ranges, not by rivers, nor by human scorn.

"The Soul, goes everywhere, like an old woman in her right mind, going anywhere she wishes, saying whatever she wants, bending to mend whatever is within her reach. Wherever the Soul migrates, it brings blessed and often desperately needed new life."
