Child of Mine

Child of Mine

Let me kiss away your teardrops as they fall
Let me lay a soothing hand upon your brow
Let me hug away your heartaches until there's none left at all
Let me kiss away your teardrops for you now.

Child of mine
Child of mine
There always will be days the sun won’t shine
Face up to your sorrows
Then look ahead tomorrow
There’s a good chance everything will turn out fine

Even summer days in evening may turn cool
And the best of friends on some days may seem cruel
The best of friends sometimes will play the fool,( we’re all fools sometimes)
But in the end those friends shine like a jewel

Child of mine
Child of mine
Some days you’re gonna find the sun don’t shine
But don’t linger on your sorrows
Look ahead into tomorrow
Chances are that things will turn out fine

I did my best to keep you from the pain
And I’ve tried to give you shelter from the rain
But some lessons are just harder to explain
When you see the loss but you can’t see the gain

Child of mine
Child of mine
You look ahead but you can’t see the signs
They’re as ancient as the ocean
And ethereal as motion
But I promise in the end that you’ll be fine
Child of mine
Child of mine
Child of mine
