Born Lucky

Born Lucky 02/15/2012 Bob Mullany

My kids call me dad, mom calls me “sonny”
I’m good with my hands, but I’m bad with my money
Your expression sure shows that you don’t think It’s funny
But I’m doing the best that I can

Born lucky, live lucky,
And if you don’t kill me,
I might even die lucky too
Some of it’s good luck and some it’s bad
But I’m lucky you love me as much as you do

You never thought much of the company I’m keepin’
When you ask where i was you know what I’m knee-deep in,
I always get caught when I’m tryin’ to creep in
Sleep deeper, keep counting more sheep

Born lucky, live lucky,
And if you don’t kill me,
I might even die lucky too
Some of it’s good luck and some it’s bad
But I’m lucky you love me as much as you do

I don’t feel I’m evil, though I’m not always good
Sometimes I drink a bit more than I should
But sometimes I drink a bit less than I could
Could be worse, so, honey, knock wood –

Born lucky, live lucky,
And if you don’t kill me
It struck me that you’re lucky too
Some of it’s good luck, and that’s not so bad
You’re lucky I love you as much as I do.
