One More Run

One More Run © 8/27/1984 Bob Mullany

Smuggling reefer from Maui to Washington state
The work's pretty risky, but the money and hours are great
It's a long haul, we go for it all every time
The secret is not to ever get caught
'Cause getting caught is a crime

One more run and I swear I'll be done
I'll have enough for my place in the sun
How many times have I told myself I'm
Going to quit after one more run

Back in the early days it was as easy as hell
You'd buy some to smoke and then what was left over you'd sell
But it lost its soul and got out of control over time
Still, the secret was not to ever get caught
'Cause getting caught is a crime

One more run and I swear I'll be done
I'll have enough for my place in the sun
How many times have I told myself I'm
Going to quit after one more run

Over the years we have all learned the price that you pay
Know who your friends are and know it could change any day
Watch what they're doing or you could end up doing time
The secret is not to ever get caught
'Cause getting caught is a crime

One more run and I swear I'll be done
I'll have enough for my place in the sun
How many times have I told myself I'm
Going to quit after one more run
