Lonely Moon

Lonely Moon

I made you cry, we had a fight
I’m walking through a lonely night
A lonely moon’s the only light
And that’s not much light at all

I wish I may, I wish I might
Find a wishing star tonight
But there’s not a single star in sight
No, there are no stars at all.

So I’m wishing on the lonely moon
And hoping for an answer soon
I’m praying for forgiveness too
It hurts me to be hurting you

So won’t you come and walk with me
So the lonely moon can see
That through it all our love endures
-we’re not lonely anymore

Maybe then the sky will clear
And the stars will reappear
Then the moon won’t be so blue
Shining down on me and you
