Life's Been Good to Me

Life's Been Good to Me

I awake as morning light comes streaming through my window
Lights up your hair as you lie sleeping peacefully.
I listen to the whisper of the pine trees as the wind blows
I must admit that life's been good to me.

Life's been good to me and I'm content to say
Life's been kind to me and mine in ,oh, so many ways
Yes, we've seen some broken dreams, and we do have our days
I've no regrets, 'cause life's been good to me.

Walk into my son's room as he's stirring from his slumber
he rubs the cobwebs from his eyes
and smiles up at me.
That smile's among the first of any blessings I could number
I must admit that life's been good to me.

Life's been good to me and I'm content to say
Life's been kind to me and mine in ,oh, so many ways
Yes, we've seen some broken dreams, and we do have our days
I've no regrets 'cause life's been good to me.

Another day, I guess I'm one day older
I try to face it philosophically.
When the weight of life is lifted from my shoulder
I'll have no regrets 'cause life's been good to me.

Life's been good to me and I'm content to say
Life's been kind to me and mine in ,oh, so many ways
Yes, we've seen some broken dreams, and we do have our days
But I've no regrets 'cause life's been good to me.
