Joy

 Every now and then
you may find a special friend
who will give you everything they’ve got for giving
they ask nothing in return
and you wish everyone could learn their way of living


I’d like to believe
that what you give you will receive in return some day
I sure hope it’s true
with all the goodness that’s in you
you’ll find all the happiness you deserve some way


Joy, you’re a joy to anyone who’s ever met you
you’ve given us so much
I know we never will forget you
you’ve got so much love to give
and so much joy in giving it
you’ve got so much life to live -
may you find joy in living it


If you feel a gentle breeze
when you gaze upon the sea of stars above you
think of those you left behind
may every starry night remind you that we love you
