How Will I Stop Loving You ?

How Will I Stop Loving You © 5/22/1987 Bob Mullany

I had this awful revelation
As you're looking at me
Looking at you dancing with him
I can see that you're lovers
-And it's not just some casual thing

I'm filled with utter devastation
As you're looking at me
Looking at you dancing with him
But I'll swallow my pride, step aside
So your love can take wing

You had the power
To bring so much joy into my life
You used that power
And wielded it just like a knife to my heart
And left me here bleeding
But you won't hear me
Pleading for you to return
It's just another hard lesson to learn
Now that we're through
-How can I stop loving you ?

Can you feel my frustration ?
As you're looking at me
Looking at you dancing with him
Now I find I was blind
And for you it was some little fling

I feel this awkward fascination
As you're looking at me
Looking at you dancing with him
Now I know that it's over
And I must deal with the pain
That that brings

You had the power
To bring so much joy into my life
You used that power
And wielded it just like a knife to my heart
And left me here bleeding
But you won't hear me
Pleading for you to return
It's just another hard lesson to learn
Now that we're through
-How can I stop loving you ?
